Where to begin...Doug is on the mend & doing really great. He has handled his surgery/recovery very well thus far. He has not tested my patience, to which I am surprised. It probably has helped that I have done a lot of praying. He went for his first outing yesterday evening. The entire family loaded up to take Dad to Bubbas Tobacco store for a can of snuff. I know, it's disgusting & I try to discourage the use of it. He was desperate & wasn't able to drive himself, although he threatened. I did consider alerting the authorities of his attempt to drive while under the influence of narcotics. But, being the good wife I am, I gave in & we had a little family outing. As we waited for Dad (in his pajama pants) to fuel his addiction, the kids noticed they also sell ice-cream. Now remember, we are at a place called Bubbas! The kids were not equipped with the proper attire (no shoes & socks), since we 're not getting out of the car! Dad is going to get what he came for & mom wants out of here! As Dad is busy telling HIS people at Bubbas about his surgery & showing them his staples, we are trying to get his attention for the very needed ice-cream! I'm telling you, I can't believe I am sitting outside of Bubbas, in my mini-van, full of kids shouting for Dad's attention for ice-cream. Honestly, I am just trying NOT to be seen, this is not my kind of place! Finally, to no avail, the girls run in, no shoes & socks to tell dad about there need for ice-cream. It's the least he can do, after all... My only regret is not having my camera handy to photograph them outside of Bubbas! You can't imagine!
