What a week....Doug made it through his surgery & his first week of recovery. As did the rest of the family. I would sit with Doug while the kids were at school & then go back in the evening after everyone was settled. When I would get home late at night I would find the kids snuggled up together & most of the time NOT in their beds. Doug has done extremely well with his recovery so far. They took 14 inches of his colon(was supposed to be 8) & his incision is a lot larger than anticipated. He spent his first 4 days with an epidural that allowed him to walk & move around. Things weren't quite so easy once it came out. He has done so well & I couldn't be more proud. I pray he doesn't get discouraged, his recovery will be slow. That's why he is on a short term disability 2-4 weeks. God bless everyone who has helped us along the way & all the well wishes you have sent. We are so grateful for the 3 weeks of meals that are being delivered thanks to the organization of L.B. We are VERY blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful friends. God Bless....
