Gifts for Miss Ava

One of my dearest friends had a new baby girl. I was so excited to make these burp cloths & minky dot blanket for her. I am so proud of them, I had to show them off. :)

Around the World...England

Carson is having Around the World at school this week. Yesterday was Mexico, today is England, Thursday is Japan & Friday is Island day. Today they were supposed to dress as King's & Queens.

Carson has such a fun time at school. They do such great things with the kids. Yesterday for example, just to name a few~

& had tacos rice & beans for snack.

Today they are having tea with the Queen! Not sure what crafts he'll come home with. Japan day the karate instructors coming!

The Wedding

I finished this book a few weeks ago. It's The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks. Doug gave it to me for Christmas. He really picked a great one without even realizing it. Although he's trying to say he knew what he was doing when he picked it!

He was just looking for one I hadn't read.
It ended up being one of my favorites! I LOVED it! It's the follow up to The Notebook. It is such a wonderful story & really tugs at your heartstrings! I would love for this one to be a motion picture! Except, at the end of the day, it could NEVER top the book! One of the reviews said: "A Slice of Life readers will take to their Hearts." I really felt that, I am still feeling it. Now only is my husband read Nicholas Sparks!

Syd's Oral Surgery

Tomorrow Syd is having oral surgery. She has to have her two top baby teeth removed. One of her permanent teeth is way, way up in her gums. They have to make a tunnel through her gums up to the tooth. It's a sort of like trail to coax the tooth to possibly come down on it's own. They will watch her over the next 6months. If this doesn't work they will have to go back in & put what they call a button on the tooth to pull it down. But we pray it won't get to that. Poor Syd...every time she has had an accident it has involved her mouth/teeth. As a two year old she had several falls & in the last couple years was even cracked in the mouth by Carson with a golf club. They assume all of these accidents have jammed that tooth way up in there. Those teeth have brown spots on them from all these incidents & she is VERY self conscious about them. Friends think she doesn't brush her teeth or she has food on them. It's so sad! I will be so happy for her when her beautiful permanent teeth are in. Tonight she didn't seem nervous about her big day. Her only request was that she get to put her teeth under her pillow for the tooth fairy. Although since seeing the 'Tooth Fairy Movie', she would really like The Rock to come get her teeth! :) She is such a sweet girl! Love you Syd!

Abby's Video...

Abby was asked by some friends that have a band to sing a song at their next venue. She found this song by Mayday Parade, "I Swear This Time I mean It". They are playing at a local teen club in a couple weeks. She recorded herself so the guys could see what they thought of the song. Doug really wanted to upload it to facebook but Ab didn't want it there. She didn't mean for anyone to see it, just to hear it. That would explain why she is sideways. :)

Watching Baby MA

Have I mentioned before how much we enjoy little MA? She is the sweetest little girl! Every morning there is so much anticipation for her arrival. Syd usually rushes out to help Mrs. Amy with diaper bags. When they get in the house Syd unbuckles MA so she can get a little lovin' before school. Then Mattie is fussing because she wants to hold her. Then Carson wants to show the girls how HE can hold MA! Of course Amy would like a little love before she goes. There isn't enough MA to go around! Oh goodness, Amy needs to start coming earlier!

What's For Supper?

Salisbury Steak

1 Can French Onion Soup
1 1/2 lbs. Ground Beef
1/2 C. Dry Bread Crumbs
1 Egg
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

1 Tbl. Flour
1/4 C. Ketchup
1/4 C. Water
1 Tbl. Worcestershire

*In large bowl, mix 1/3 C. soup, ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt & pepper. Shape 6 oval patties. In large skillet (I use my electric skillet) over med-high heat brown both sides of patties.
*In small bowl, blend flour & remaining soup until smooth. Mix in ketchup, water & Worcestershire. Pour over meat in skillet. Cover & cook 20 min. Stirring occasionally.
*I serve it with mashed potatoes & a veggie. It is oh so yummy...Enjoy!

Delta Beta Sigma Fashion Show

A couple weeks ago, the sorority Abby is in, Delta Beta Sigma had their annual Fashion Show. All the proceeds from the show went to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The girls & guys modeled the latest formal/prom fashions & tuxedos. They were all so cute! During the intermission they gave away door prizes & Mattie's number was called. She won a $25 Movie Gift Card...way to go Mattie! Doug was unable to make the afternoon events due to work. After the show I took the kids to lunch at 'Toots' for Good Food & Fun! We had a fun afternoon!
