Abby was 1 of 16 girls to be chosen to be rushed for Delta Beta Sigma. Delta Beta Sigma is a national high school sorority founded in Columbia, Tennessee in 1903. Currently, there are eight chapters in four southern states. Delta Beta Sigma is a sisterhood of high school girls who practice the virtues of tolerance, scholarship, social poise and citizenship. The good thing about DBS is that they are always holding a different fund-raiser. It is a non-profitable organization, so all the money raised goes to our "charity of the month". Last year they did Alzheimer's & this year they are doing Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer.
Abby was rushed Monday night at 1:30am by her big sister Alexis. 40+ girls & boys showed up, chanting & clapping up the stairs to Abby's room to get her out of bed, for the "kidnapping". All four high schools in our town do this on the same night! Then they ALL meet at a house for breakfast, then return the girls back home. Night 2, they had a dance, Night 3 (tonight) is skating, Night 4 is a scavenger hunt, Night 5 swimming party, Day 6 out with Big Sister, Day 7 Mother/Daughter Tea & Oath Night.
I am very proud of Abby & so excited for her. I hope she embraces this experience & enjoys every minute of it!
